Which group/organization will get the most bang from my donation?

I've donated cash to several democrats over the past couple of election cycles so now my name is on a gazillion mailing lists and I'm getting donation requests from organizations I've never even heard of. I'm realizing that it's probably time to send out a few donations and do my part to help the Democratic party hold the Senate and maybe possibly win an election or two here in Georgia. But who or what organization is going to make the best use of my donation? Act Blue? or someone else? (I wouldn't put it past the GOPers, given some of their dirty tricks that have been exposed lately, to be sending out emails trying to steal donations with Democratic-centric emails).

1. If the "most bang" is what you want, donate your money to the Third Way. That way neocons get it...

... and progressives don't. Lotsa bang there, at least for the DINOs.

I only donate to candidates, never any of the "aggregators". That way I know my dough is going to candidates who most closely support my positions.

2. I still think you're better off donating to specific candidates.

When you give to organizations, they're just putting your money into a larger pool, from which they'll be dipping out to give to people who you would approve of AND those you feel are sucky candidates.

Go to opensecrets.org or some of the other places that list candidate fundraising, and find good candidates who seem underfunded. Or to leverage you money, locate races where the balance is close, but the districts are away from major broadcast areas, so that commercials are cheap to run.

6. Democracy for America does good work. Elizabeth Warren was just trying to raise money for them.

You could also look into the Working Families Party.

candidates in the tightest races. Most of them are in very red states, so their positions are more moderate, but if you're like me and feel that keeping a majority is of utmost importance you might considering donating to those candidates.

Democrat-held seats that are toss-ups (4): Louisiana, North Carolina, Alaska, Michigan

For Republicans, the path of least resistance to a Senate majority is winning West Virginia, South Dakota, Montana and Arkansas, and then two of the four states in this category.
