From his wife:A Christopher Green update:
I spent the Cleveland Indians opener with my Chris! Of course he was funny - remember, he can't talk - someone actually asked me if he was always funny... I told them the truth - it is his goal in life! but come on - he had four women in the the room - and he is not going to be funny? Right. And, the Indians won in with their fantastic team spirit. He is doing better breathing, but very fidgety. I have brought him in several small squeezy things, but they get lost.
Again - thank you all for the wonderful messages, prayers and thoughts. You are all such loving people!

Thanks, Peg!

(152,315 posts)I truly think having a sense of humor can help make our sometimes hellish lives so much more bearable...
Thank goodness it is irrepressible!

(152,315 posts)And I agree totally about thanking the donor as well.
Without that death, no matter how it came, Chris would not have gotten those lungs with their precious gift of life...

(21,046 posts)And you're unfailingly polite, even when you drop F-bombs!
Nothing like being a lady while cussing! That's a real art!!
I'm so glad he's getting better.
When I lose my sense of humor and stop cracking jokes, that's when you know I am really ill.

(152,315 posts)He has many friends here, and I know that all of you want to know what's going on...And not all of you are on Facebook.
It's easy to bring his wife's updates here, and I look forward to doing it.
Thank you for your very kind words!
Stay well, OK? We need your sense of humor too!

(21,046 posts)I always thought George Carlin told truth to power. And he really played with language like a master.
Lewis Black is good too, despite more F-bombs than you can count, but he doesn't have the way with words that Carlin did.
I've seen Lewis Black live and met him after one of his shows, and he is a totally nice guy, as opposed to his angry on stage persona. But he's not mad at anyone individually, he's just pointing out the stupidities in our society. "WHY should I keep up with the Kardashians?" for example.
Hubby and I like to make up new words. Like instead of saying "Let's get the fuck outta here," we say "Let's disenfuculate the place." Or "my fecal donation capacity is exceeded."
Creativity is important. This also includes learning to curse in foreign languages!!
