Really?

(39,961 posts)That is the strongest question *I* have. Is he allowed to do this? Because if he is, we *all* should be allowed to do it at the first sign of law enforcement doing something we don't like.

(16,199 posts)Seems there is a very strong case, evidence-wise, but it takes a prosecutor who wants to do it. Just to discourage such behavior, I think they should.

(154,021 posts)but clearing leather is what they do, and are AUTHORIZED to do so in any hostile situation. Point to anywhere where this guy is a cop
Glassunion
(10,201 posts)Don't get me wrong.
The police make situations hostile. If I am walking to a bus stop to get to work, it should not be a hostile situation. There is not reason to "clear leather".
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)that went south...
And most of the time you and I have no idea why they did such. Some cops are assholes and enjoy the power trip, but not all.
As is this guy broke the law, and there will be no consequence, and things will continue to degrade in the US.
Glassunion
(10,201 posts)I have had a police office draw their weapon on me while I was walking to the bus stop. Nothing wrong, no charges, no arrest. I did not have time to so much as speak.

@BLMNational Can you please see to it that Eric Parker of Idaho is arrested for aiming his gun at federal officers? http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2014/04/the-irony-of-cliven-bundys-unconstitutional-stand/360587/
also Tweeted ThinkProgress, The Nation, Harry Reid, and many, many more...

(9,446 posts)Great idea! Can you imagine what would happen if a person who was pulled over by a police officer for speeding, aimed a gun at the officer? If he/she lived they most assuredly would be arrested. Yet this guy might get away with basically doing the very same thing? WTF?
