It would have made his life a lot easier if he did not have to fight both the Democrats and the Republicans when he ran in Vermont. They even joined forces once and agreed on a single candidate between them. Bernie beat that candidate, too.
Now, I understand he and the Democrats made a deal: Democrats will not run anyone against him in Vermont, if Bernie will vote with the Democratic Senate Caucus on procedural matters. The deal does not affect his vote on substance.

There was a video a few weeks ago where some guy asked students on an American university campus to name one of their senators. When none of them could, he asked them to name any senator. One kid said, "Bertie. Bertie Frank." The video guy says, "Do you mean Bernie Sanders or Barney Frank? And btw, one isn't in Congress anymore & was never a senator." Maybe I should be doing this instead, but it was funny.
