Horsford urges elected officials to push out 'armed separatists'

LAS VEGAS (KSNV MyNews3.com) -- Making stronger a call he made more than a week ago, Rep. Steven Horsford has challenged all elected officials in Nevada to rid the Bunkerville area of the "armed separatists" that have rallied around rancher Cliven Bundy in his fight with the Bureau of Land Management ...

Horsford, who attended a breakfast in Mesquite, said he then talked to "another gentleman who said, well he's nothing but a welfare rancher, living off the taxpayer subsidy when he's a millionaire, he's not somebody who is trying to survive to get by."

Horsford then said, "And that is why I am calling on (Gov.) Brian Sandoval, Senator Dean Heller, the sheriff (Doug Gillespie) and any other elected official in Nevada to do their part to get rid of these armed separatists."

Loud cheers from the audience then drowned out his speech ...

a) he owes money for grazing
b) he refuses to pay what the courts have affirmed that he owes.
c) I believe i saw somewhere $100/day/cow, according to the court. And that was some time ago. Thats got to add up to a LARGE number by now.

So.. put a lein on the property. Give him the legally mandated time, and if he doesn't pay, foreclose.

Then sell the property, complete with cattle to Tyson or Cargill, or one of the other big beef companies. Let the corps go up against the militias. No matter what happens there, everyone else wins. The Govt gets paid, and they dont have to deal with the crazies, outside of court

It's their corporate misfeasance that permeates everything that's rotten in Washington. Corporate oligarchs like the Koch Bros. and their ilk will only be too happy to take all that land and property off Bundy's hands for a pittance.

And then it'll be them sticking it to Uncle Sam (meaning us) for the same subsidies and a few more their lawyers will have added by the time they own the lot. If this is a solution, I'm not sure which is worse: The Oligarch's winning? or The Women & Children UpFront NutBaggers?

Which is why Id be just as happy to see the government find a way to put this issue in someone else's lap. The I'd rather have the militia nuts angry and trying to circumvent big ag, than making plans to start a shootout with a bunch of law enforcement, and I'd much rather see the corporations involved spending their time and energy trying to evict Bundy and his army than coming up with new ways to screw up the food supply.

I wonder if it could actually happen and if these militia nuts actually have the cajones to go up against Corporate America.
