Steve Ells and Monty Moran.

Chipotle's business is booming, and the burrito chain's co-CEOs are being paid handsomely for it.

Steve Ells and Monty Moran made a combined $58 million last year, according to James Covert at The New York Post.

Covert writes that proxy advisory firm ISS wants shareholders to vote against the compensation package at the May 15 annual meeting.

"A combined $58 million in CEO pay for a fast food company isn’t just excessive — it’s indefensible," New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer told the Post.

There's at least two dozen little hole in the wall Tex-Mex eateries within five minutes of my house that are far tastier and cheaper.

that's true, but I'll take chipotle over taco bell any day. (I eat at Chipotle maybe twice a year. In my neighborhood alone there is a quick taco place that I prefer... and even there I go maybe once a month or every other month.)

I made perfectly great shrimp tacos with a cabbage slaw last night in 20 minutes.

I'd try to figure how to give most of it away, or by doing some good with it.

With workers' wages as stagnant as they are for so long, these CEO compensation deals are obscene.

And, btw, I actually like chipotle's - fresh ingredients, simply cooked. Makes me want to try to reproduce the things at home.
