Elisabeth Hasselbeck Escalates War On Female Breadwinners: Are They a ‘Recipe For Disaster?’

Fox News host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Tuesday suggested that women who made more than their husbands could be a “recipe for disaster.” “Are female breadwinners a recipe for disaster?” Hasselbeck asked, pointing to a study which found men were five times more likely to cheat if their spouse paid the bills.

“Men have this expectation that they’re going to be the breadwinners,” author Farnoosh Torabi explained. “And when they’re not, that can cause a lot of emotional problems.”

As the segment concluded, co-host Brian Kilmeade asked the audience if it was “worth it to have the man become the second-highest paid person in the house?” Over the weekend, Fox News host Clayton Morris had asked if “female breadwinners” were a “problem” after a Pew Research Center study released earlier this month found that about 25 percent of women made more than their husbands. “Isn’t there some sort of biological, innate need for me to be the caveman?” Morris wondered. “Go out and bring home the dinner. Is it emasculating if we don’t do it?” http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/05/06/elisabeth-hasselbeck-escalates-war-on-female-breadwinners-are-they-a-recipe-for-disaster/

His football contract is 15 million for 4 years and she gets 5 million a year.

Relationship would be the breadwinner. If she wasn't married to a pro sports athlete her million dollar salary would most likely make her the top earner.

able to play football and she's still with Faux Nooze with a multi-million dollar contract, she'll be quitting, right?

He doesn't play anymore does he? I can't remember if he quit or is still playing. She will sit and bash working women when she went back to work right after the birth of her children. Like most Faux news people say one thing, do another.

How do we as a society make it okay for those men who have emotional issues with their significant others making more money?

I'd like to ask gay couples how they handle it. Maybe it would be enlightening or maybe it would be the same, either way the solution isn't demoting women, paying them less, etc. It's addressing the root cause of emotional insecurities for those who have an issue here.

If that "men with emotional issues" thing is really an issue, then the problem is clearly the person with the inferiority complex.

Merhaps Ms. Hassleback should be looking into the issue of petty men with low self-esteem and not the income level of people with unexpected (to her) sex organs.

Yep. Just make yourself powerless ladies and your man will take care of you and never even look at another woman.
