Boehner's given $22 million to the NRCC since 2005 - he knows what the 'fundraising arm' is doing

RIDICULOUS: Boehner dodges #Benghazi fundraising, claims he has nothing to do with @NRCC (after giving them millions) http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitics/2014/05/12/boehner-washes-his-hands-on-republicans-benghazi-fundraising/

____ He has nothing to do with House Republicans’ relentless use of the 2012 Benghazi attack to raise money for the 2014 congressional campaigns, House Speaker John Boehner told a Texas audience (while on a fundraising tour) on Monday.

House Speaker John Boehner and Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers, R-Washington. Boehner says he has nothing to do with House Republicans using the 2012 Benghazi assassinations to raise campaign money . . .

Boehner delivered his public hand-washing before the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, remarks picked up by the Politico website.

“Listen, I’m involved in this investigation, I’m not involved in what goes on at the campaign committee,” he said. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is inviting donors to become a”Benghazi Watchdog” by giving from $50 to $500.

“All I know is that we’re trying to get the truth here,” Boehner added. “And I’ve got to believe the Democrats are probably fundraising off of Benghazi just like we are. … I don’t know what the fundraising arm is doing. All I know is that it’s time to get to the truth . . .”

Truth is, Boehner is the top donor to the NRCC in the republican party. from April:

The Speaker as Fundraiser

Money given by Speaker John Boehner's campaign to the National Republican Congressional Committee, by election cycle.
2006- $1.24m
2008- $1.58m
2010- $3.70m
2012- $10.58m
2014*- $5.30m

Mr. Boehner has been an increasingly important source of money for the National Republican Congressional Committee, the party wing that helps the G.O.P. maintain (and increase) its House majority.

Beginning in the 2006 election cycle, Mr. Boehner’s campaign committee, Friends of John Boehner, has been the single largest source of funds for the N.R.C.C. in every election cycle, and between 2006 and 2012 the amount grew every cycle, finishing with the $10.6 million it sent during the 2011-2012 period, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Other leading House Republicans can raise money, of course, and many send hundreds of thousands of dollars to the N.R.C.C. But none match Mr. Boehner’s record for using his campaign to deliver money to the Republican cause: He has transferred more than $22 million from his campaign to the party committee since 2005, more than six times as much as the next person (Mr. Hensarling, with a total of $3.3 million). Through the first 15 months of the current cycle, the national committee has raised $81 million, of which $5.3 million has come via Mr. Boehner’s campaign account . . . more
