Etch A Sketch Launches New Ad Campaign

The maker of Etch a Sketch on Thursday launched a new ad campaign, taking advantage of the political conversation centering around the classic toys. "Etch a Sketch is proud to be part of the national conversation," the ads read. A top Romney adviser recently said the general election is like an "Etch a Sketch," after the primary race is done the campaign can reset its priorities.

Hormel never got out in front of the SPAM brand being re-defined in another context.

By the time they got around to saying, "Hey, that's us", it had already become a generic term for unsolicited commercial email.

Classier and smarter than I would have thought possible, to turn that negative association positive without picking a side.
