The Hillary crowd here immediately took that for an endorsement.

(11,785 posts)I was so expecting that Warren would come out and say that Hillary is a booger-eating kitten juggler unworthy of high office.

(8,812 posts)I think any effort to make her VP would be an attempt to muzzle her.
Admittedly, she's tough to muzzle (thank heaven for that!), but even so.
The only way I can see her as VP is with a President who's even more progressive.
Otherwise, if she runs at all, I hope she reaches for the brass ring.

it actually depresses me to know we have someone so in tune, and so ready, that she is wasting that fire and insight in the Senate. We as Americans NEED Elizibeth to run, before it is too damn late.

SQUEE
(1,315 posts)What option is there, I for one am sick of having to vote for least worse candidates.
I don't expect perfection or total allignment, Senator Warren and I most definitely disagree on the 2nd, but I deal with that issue in my state, and despite my vociforousness on it here, it is not the be all end all of my political views. Her stance as the corporate giant killer, ending student loan slavery and taking on the banks for us, all things that are more crucial to every one than a future showdown over gun ownership. I believe if she or someone damn near like her does not get the White House soon,we will irretrevibly lose this country to the Corporations.
I do not see Warren as a Left candidate, taking on corruption and the idea of a fair country for the people are ideas most every American believes in, it is the media that has convinced us that standing up for a square deal is some radical leftist notion, we need to reject that, and spread the word, and pressure her to run.

(55,981 posts)Well each year that "little" gets less and less and will soon be nothing. H. Clinton-Sachs is not the candidate that will halt the current transfer of wealth.

(1,315 posts)I have lent out my copy of her book twice already, and have bought 3 copies to start passing out as well, if enough of us can really get the message out there, away from the medias slant, we may have a fighting chance.

(11,785 posts)Perhaps the Party leadership thinks that statement is equivalent to "we're your best option", but what it really says is, "We don't give a shit about representing your interests and we're not going to listen to you."

(24,979 posts)I figure she'd be even more effective as a Harvard professor than in the Senate. Or wait, maybe as a talk show host? A motivational speaker on tour?

(8,812 posts)"Nice little country you got there, Iraq. It would be a shame if something happened to it."
That law essentially opened the door to privatizing Iraq's oil and giving American companies first priority. In short, it amounted to blackmail and theft.
And yet the aforementioned played a key role in perpetuating the canard that the new Iraqi government was dragging its feet and being uncooperative, disingenuously diverting attention away from the fact that we were holding its most valuable resource hostage.

(401 posts)and Senator Warren seems to be parodying them and their social and economic perspective. Out here it's the phrase "special interests". All the time. Same thing, same false equivalence. Same baloney.
Senators Bernie Sanders and Warren are speaking from a working class perspective I haven't heard from the Democratic Party since everyone bought into trickle-down Reaganism, and that's been thirty years of voodoo economics and the attempted destruction of every reform of the New Deal and the 20th Century.
I like the phrase "the French aristocracy didn't see it coming, either." I hope it sticks.

(4,695 posts)over the next 8 years (which she is doing now). Hillary Clinton as President could give Warren the opportunity to become more intensive. It may take several years to rid our democracy of fascism. During the last term of Clinton's two terms, a President could move very Left, of Center, just in time for Warren's first of two terms beginning January 2025. That is my opinion.

(173 posts)I believe she will be more effective where she is...if Hillary runs that will open the gate for Warren.
REMEMBER Hillary comes out of the corporate world and is nowhere near as far to the left as Warren...
Let our girl Liz get her feet wet and slowly move the right leaning dems to the left...it will take time but will be done.
