Interesting and scary info in the rest of the piece. I'm not quite so pessimistic; I don't think a super-majority of whites nationwide are so willing to buy into Republican craziness to the point of Mississippi-like vote differentials, especially amongst younger white people.

1. Considering that the Democratic party was once the party of anti-abolitionists, I think

it is also absurd to believe that the parties won't morph to accommodate a changing electorate.

Just as the end of the Civil War didn't spell doom for the Democratic party.

5. It's not going to happen any time soon

The repugs have got this report that can be read to say that their "white" or "Southern" strategy is still viable.

I hope they keep working it, and I think they will until the ones that strategy appeals to completely age out. And that's happening daily, as we speak.

Woohoo! Keep it up, repugs, nothing like being known as the "white" party in a browning America.

Your party may be replenished enough to win a presidential election in say 2032 or '36, if you change the open appeal to whites only.

God! Can you imagine a party in 2014 still thinking a "whites only strategy" is a still good idea — regardless of what that report says?
