There is nothing about Jeb Bush which is likeable. Barring the emergence of some new firebrand, death or serious illness, Hillary will almost certainly be the Democratic nominee. On the Republican side, it's far more up-in-the-air. I still think there's a good chance that the conservative bubble is oblivious enough to nominate Christie.

3. Hillary certainly

Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio will end up dividing the 15% of the Republicon base that is OK with their immigration policies. I think it's more likely that it will be Hillary against Rand Paul in the general election. She'll beat him, of course.

The money people wanted Goerge W. Bush, they got him.

They wanted Bob Dole, they got him.

They wanted George W. Bush, they got him.

They wanted John McCain, they got him.

They wanted Mitt Romney, they got him

Now they want Jeb Bush. If he doesn't run, they're set to their fallback position of Mitt Romney again.

But the rest of the field is stunningly weak, and Rand has all of his father's Paulbots left over in the caucus states. There's not a lot of enthusiasm for Jebbie, at least Romney had the army of Mormons working for him, and many of them are used to having doors slammed in their faces when presenting an unpopular idea.

Frankly, I think Rand Paul will run against all their money, by saying that Wall Street and the banksters want to buy the nomination, and exhorting the voters not to let them. One thing we and the tea partiers have in common is that we're both still pretty pissed off that the bank bailouts happened, and I think it will be a successful strategy to run against banksters in the Republicon primaries.

That said, it won't mean squat in the general, most of the banksters are perfectly happy with letting Hillary win, and should Jebbie fail to get the nomination, their money dries up in a flash.

If Paul wins the nomination, the money men will abandon the GOP in droves.

And that means every level of the ticket, too.

They will not abide a Paul candidacy. Hillary will end up with ten times the cash Paul and the rest of the GOP will have and that will make her coattails the longest in history.

And keep in mind, 2016 is the WORST year for the GOP in the Senate, and a Rand Paul nomination could mean a House and Senate that can amend at will.

Many Repukes will run candidacies in the red states with the theme of "elect me to put the brakes on Hillary", implying that she's probably going to get elected.

While I think Hillary will win in 2016, she will probably not have coattails, she won't bring out the voters that Obama got to the polls, who simply would vote a straight Democratic ticket.

I don't see us winning the House back in 2016, that probably won't happen until after the 2020 census causes redistricting, and that's only if we can take back state legislatures to re-gerrymander districts to our liking, the way the Rethugs played the game after the 2010 census.

We can have a corporalicious unified ticket. A bipartisan co-presidency! Why confuse the voters with two choices?
