An homage to the working men and women of America....

With all of the crazy things that are happening right now, it is easy to get discouraged.

For all of you who get up every morning and go to work (even if you hate your job)
This is for you....

My Father always told me and the boys that a person can be judged partially on the quality
and pride that he/she puts into their work....we always heard "blah blah blah"..but the older I have gotten, the more I realize that the old man was right.

My admiration and respect goes out to the Do'ers. The ones who get things done. Who pay no mind to the naysayers and doom mongers, but forge ahead because it is in their very natures to do so. I respect the persons who won't quit. The people who have made their own luck, yet help others when they can.
To the people who have the courage who say "This is MY life, and I'm going to make the best of it."
To the people who don't let others think for them.
To the people who even in sickness, still show up at the damned job out of a sense of responsibility.
YOU are the heroes ! You are the backbone.

Though others may snicker at your go get 'em attitude, NEVER let them get you down, for
YOU are the ones who make this Country work.

They aren't logged in to DU to chat.

Used to be i was a Do'er. Old and retired now, and happy as can be. Rest and relaxation is my main 'to do' these days.

Having said that..... i want to give thanks for all those at work today - making electricity, filling gas tanks, working at the beer stores. Farmers outstanding in their fields, cops on the highways and byways, the military grunt on guard duty.

All those people and more... they make America the best place to retire.

Meanwhile the dog-eat-dog of politics and culture and capitalism grind steadily onward overcoming all obstacles; leaving bedlam in the wake. Take a bow, Do'ers you're in the minority on DU.

One word of advice, tho, if you plan on living as long as some of us, retire early and often.
