"When Fascism comes to America it will come wrapped in the flag and carrying a bible". (He should have specified the Douay version of the bible, to be accurate)

Frank has been my hero for about forty years so far. I liked what he had to say as much as his music. He was emblematic of everything that was worthwhile about the independent pioneering American Spirit, and he was in his day a National Treasure. And he didn't take no shit from nobody and had an excellent bullshit meter.

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”

ff to about 3:15

frank also had a lot of fun with the Swaggert scandals that happened during his last tour in 1988. I was fortunate he started the tour in the northeast and I was at the first show of the tour in Albany....and Hartford and Springfield and Long Island and Providence and Boston and I think Poughkeepsie.

And my life is complete. I heard Rachel Maddow refer to him as "the great Frank Zappa" in this recent TRMS

I have no clue why this starts 18 minutes in. you got rewind to the beginning. franks in the first five minute....

Poor Senator Hawkins, the poor dear thought she could match wits with Frank Zappa.

thanks for the vid.
