Which decade had the most impact on the American people starting from the beginning of the 20th century till now.
The 30's and the 60's imo

(68,644 posts)On the heels of the depression, then the beginnings of reform and becoming a world player with WW2 on deck.
We rebounded, became and economic superpower and had a number of great FDR programs running.
Of course, we've lost our way.

(21,786 posts)The New Deal, Social Security, technological advances as a result of the war (nuclear energy, jet aircraft, space travel), the GI bill, the rise of the USA as the world's dominant military and industrial power following the large-scale destruction of much of European industrial capacity, and so on.
