WASHINGTON A Nebraska federal judge is once again considering giving up his blog after hearing complaints from the legal community.
U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf said earlier this year that he would stop adding new material to his blog, called Hercules and the Umpire. But he has posted since then.
In a recent post, he was critical of last weeks Supreme Courts decision that family-owned corporations could opt out of a mandate to provide their employees with health insurance covering contraceptive services. Corporation Hobby Lobby had challenged the mandate.
U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Kopf
Kopf said: The Court is now causing more harm (division) to our democracy than good by deciding hot button cases that the Court has the power to avoid.
Then he got more pointed: As the kids say, it is time for the Court to stfu. Thats a common acronym for shut the (expletive) up.

(45,251 posts)5. What the fuck does he think he is, a corporation?
A corporation is a person and its speech is protected by the First Amendment. Further, money is speech. Therefore, Holly Hobby should not be forced to "speak" about something in which it does not believe, by paying for health insurers to cover contraceptives for its employees.
But an actual human being, speaking with actual words, instead of with money? Clearly, the First Amendment was never intended to cover something that bizarre.
What a fucking nerve.

Wake up judge, I think that was the purpose.
