Ben Carson Thinks Obama Is Engaging In A Leninist Plot To Intentionally Destroy The Economy
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 7/8/2014 11:05 am
Readying for a potential presidential bid, Ben Carson has been speaking out about how everything from health care reform to gay marriage is part of a long-term communist plot to bring down America, inspired by Vladimir Lenin and Saul Alinsky and orchestrated by none other than President Obama. In the second part of Carsons interview with WorldNetDaily editor Joseph Farah last week, which he began by tying together pot use, Benghazi and the Pharrell song Happy, the conservative activist said people need to wake up about the subversive communist plot.

(53,661 posts)I've dealt with surgeons a few times. Some have great personalities and a well-rounded world view and they are wonderful, down to Earth, good folks. It's their technique and ability to hold things all together under stress that makes them a success and a necessity. They are right there to save lives when no other person can.
One I had to deal with was doing surgery on a family member, had such a dismissive personality, if he hadn't been so highly recommended, I would have gone elsewhere.
We only had about three encounters as he was so well paid, his time was so valuable, that he never gave more than a few minutes to anyone. His life was focused on the operating room. That is a good thing, rude or not.
But he knew exactly what was happening when a fracture failed to heal, went to a seminar on the exact problem and did the third surgery. Then at our last meeting, when all had healed, was the first time I saw the human side of the man. He was ecstatic that the method worked and restored the functioning and positioning, just as before the break. He went on about how perfect it was, truly happy. It's why he was recommended, his passion, but he had no 'people skills' at all.
But others are like Joe and just not good for making decisions that effect the lives of millions. We've had a rare chance for the last few years, much of it squandered by wing nuts and on the reverse side, voter apathy. Things to go downhill when Obama leaves office.

(100,068 posts)He said when he was in medical school that the surgeons were the most high strung, unlikable people in the whole school. I'm not saying all surgeons are like that but I'm also guessing that Dr Carson is not too far off from the stereotype.

(115,683 posts)But I assume one needs to be reasonably intelligent to get through medical school and all the training that follows. What I can't figure out is how someone who is smart enough to have done all those things and has had an apparently successful career as a surgeon could be stupid enough to believe the crap he's spewing. Or maybe he doesn't believe it at all and just spews to attract the knuckledraggers comprising his desired constituency. That would make him an evil cynic.

(16,423 posts)I just read the article. The REAL connection between "Happy" and communism is that people rather listen to that song than to republican rantings about the communist in the White House.

(8,217 posts)Other than having two verses. Everything else is the chorus.
So, here's the lyrics:
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the way
Chorus:
Because I'm -happy-
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm -happy-
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm -happy-
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm -happy-
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
hey, come on!
Here come bad news talking this and that -Yeah-
Give me all you got, dont hold it back -Yeah-
Well I should probably warn you I'll be just fine -Yeah-
No offense to you dont waste your time here's why
It basically just says, whatever bad things come my way, it won't faze me, I rather be happy about life and everything else.
Is that what that idiot thinks is communist?
I guess the idea of being resilient and is antithesis to his thinking everyone should just be mad every time.

(9,350 posts)It seems a number of people who have either taken money from the government for themselves, or their businesses want to pretend they did everything by themselves. You may have seen posts about the Mother Jones article that listed the Silicon Valley companies that had taken money from the government and the fact that their creators claimed their companies had not received money from the government.
Maybe people like Dr. Ben Carson and Rep. Paul Ryan wish they had gained their success by themselves. Maybe the real reason they want to end the social safety net is that if they end it they can claim they did not used the social safety net.
