There Was No Stand Down Order: The Release of the Benghazi Transcripts Busts Republicans

Republican Benghazi-gasms appear to be shriveling under the sunshine of transparency.

Wednesday evening, Rep. Buck McKeon (R-CA), Chairman of the House Committee on Armed Services, decided to release the transcripts of interviews of nine military personnel conducted between January and April of this year regarding the attacks in Benghazi. McKeon has been saying for a while now that he’s satisfied with the military’s response to the Benghazi attack, but it seems no one in his party is listening to his attempt to keep them from attacking our servicemembers.

Darrell Issa (R-CA) earned himself Four Pinocchios for claiming that Secretary Hillary Clinton ordered former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta to “stand down” during the Benghazi attacks and now Democrats are demanding an apology.

Just kidding, thanks for the report. This is something which was explained by the military and the possibility of the military responding quickly was not a part of the solution, Issa had to know this if many of our citizens know he was just running a game, fooling those who wanted to produce an issue against SOS Clinton. Oh, BTW, the amount of money spent on his investigation needs to come out of his butt or the GOP who was pushing for an impossible result of the investigation.

Also, the front-line wingnuts will not soon drop this meme as they have too much invested in it to admit they were wrong.

It's a Rovian thing-

The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. ''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

Of course, the RW paymasters don't want critical thinking, they want a populace that is just smart enough to get their bidding done without asking questions.

This was included in the education section of the 2012 Texas RepubliClown platform-
"Knowledge-Based Education – We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs..."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/answer-sheet/post/texas-gop-rejects-critical-thinking-skills-really/2012/07/08/gJQAHNpFXW_blog.html

George Carlin crystallized it quite well here-

The analysis is good, but some use it as an excuse to give up. A lot of people can't afford to do that, never did. Life is not a series of skits and one-liners that replace reality and allow us to stand back safely and laugh, because life demands the best we can do.

But yeah, societies have always been organized into rigid hierarchies that seek to force people into a niche that is less than beneficial, just to survive.

There are a lot of willing peons, as I call the less well off the RepubliClowns. They either have not sought or been given the opportunity to lift themselves up and hate it, So they satisfy themselves by keeping busy putting others down.

That they may have been victims at the start of the process, doesn't mean they're not perpetrators now. That's where they are the most dangerous.

They want revenge on a lot of people for their lives, or what they thoughttheir lives should have been. They never snap at the hand they think is feeding them but will savage everyone else they can.

Thus they're doomed and will take us with them, I fear.

Thanks for you good posts to me here.

THIS is how they operate, how their mindset works, where their priorities are, and the cradle - indeed, the incubator - of their agenda.

They're "history's actors" alright. Actors deal in fiction. Actors are the leading lights and purveyors of make-believe. And this ain't no reality show.

Got the whole article in my files now. Thanks!

Democrats can demand all they want, they will never get an apology from republicans. Apparently, republicans can do anything they want, say anything they want without any fear of the truth being thrown at them. They never apologize for anything they do or say and Issa is one of the ringleaders of that way of "thinking."
In other words, IOKIYAR.

How much have all these investigations cost taxpayers so far? Who voted ISSA into office, and are they upset that he has wasted time and $$$ on this, instead of doing his job? Imagine the shape people COULD be in if the gop invested all that effort into problems, such as unemployment benefits, ending wars, fixing infrastructure? It is either dig, dig, dig trying to find the President did something wrong, or forming ANOTHER committee to investigate something that has already been shown to be NOTHING. I noticed that when the President flew into Dallas, Dubya did not make a courtesy visit to the airport. As in "Where's Waldo" the democratic party should be asking "Where's Georgie?" Is he confined somewhere for some reason?

This is huge, this needs to be brought out at every town hall meeting in every state of this country. DNC and all should be jamming this down every media outlets throat. Every Democrat that is a true democrat, progressive, liberal, or even care about anything should be facebooking this, screaming this, posting and messaging this to everyone they know. And after this is done, then we need to scream and do the same thing about the f'd up waste of tax payer money this has become, and what it will be.....VOTE DEM

At least, that's the most nominal response. Their ideas will run the spectrum of mind control of our military personnel to every other nutty conspiracy theory out there. Benghazi is a cult belief in the GOP now. Just like 2 out of 3 Republicans still believe Saddam had WMD's before the Iraq War, no transcripts or evidence to the contrary will make them believe otherwise. The truth doesn't phase cultists. They don't live in the real world.
