we will start hearing about how the agency will someday evolve into just that
a magic federal cloud backing up all our data
kind of the way mandated health insurance from for profit corporations will someday magically evolve into single payer

We all know they would never do that, and we know this because they've said so, although the oversight is highly classified as you can imagine. Of course, it is difficult to say for sure what they are doing but if they say everything is good than that should be good enough for everyone. Remember, the constitution is more like a non-binding idea, a political statement, not something cast in stone and each person in power gets to pick and choose what they like and don't like about it. It's that flexibility that has made us such a great nation over the last 40 years. Consider it a Chinese menu form of government, you can pick #2 and skip #4.
Anyway, if these groups aren't doing anything the government in power doesn't agree with or can't exploit, then they should have nothing to worry about.
