the family is looking to build a permanent presence on the Washington landscape by establishing a sprawling museum dedicated to the Bible just two blocks south of the National Mall.
The development of a Bible museum has long been a dream of the Green family of Oklahoma, which has built Hobby Lobby into a $3 billion company in which its Christian beliefs infuse every aspect of the business, from the music played in its stores to being closed on Sundays.

(12,723 posts)Their little factory on the southside of OKC is open 24/7. So those employees there are not worthy of worshiping on Sunday like their more public employees. I plan on driving by there this weekend and getting some pictures to prove the point they are the biggest fucking hypocrites on earth.

(12,723 posts)Like stupid stuff with googley eyes, picture frames, candle holders. We have known several people who worked there. It is also a distribution center/warehouse for the chinese crap they bring in.
It is possible they do not manufacture as much as they used but they did do all this as recently as five years ago.

(24,367 posts)It is a bit hypocritical, to be sure. I was going to suggest if it was a distribution center, they would be justified, as many major chains have DC's that run 24/7/365 out of necessity.

"Profit is not a necessity"
No. It isn't. Unless every single business entity is NOT a charity. Then profit is kind of important.
But making sure a store is stocked with that one thing YOU are going to want tomorrow morning IS important.
To many, many businesses indeed.
That's pretty much why there are tractor trailers rolling across the vast interstate networks and long freight trains crossing the country as we speak (so to speak).
To keep you and every other American happy and well supplied.
Since you are interjecting yourself into a conversation between my self and another, I won't attempt to describe to you why it is that some businesses have 24 hour operations.
