Remember those two brothers who were fired from having a "flip this house" program on HGTV?
Well, the cult they belong to is still at it.
Benham Group Disrupts 'Synagogue Of Satan' Unitarian Universalist Worship Services, Receives Proclamation From Mayor
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 7/22/2014 12:35 pm
Flip Benhams group Operation Save America disrupted the services of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of New Orleans on Sunday while the congregation was honoring a member who had died. The organization framed their action as simply an effort to present the truth of the Gospel in this synagogue of Satan as part of their efforts to defeat the culture of death.

(90,662 posts)Children were giving a performance at the time; 2 people died and 7 others were injured. The first to die was a man who stood directly in front of the murderer to shield others. The children were evacuated with presence of mind. Congregants (unarmed, all of them) captured and subdued the gunman until law enforcement arrived.
UUs don't terrorize easily.
But for some reason this minority religion has been targeted by RW hate media.

(35,069 posts)Unitarian Universalism has many liberal adherents but I also think it goes deeper than that.
The central idea of religion of many on the right is that the most important thing about it is that somewhere there is some giant old omnipotent and omniscient white man who, what a surprise, validates the social, political, cultural, and other ideas that they have completely, and anyone who disagrees with that is not just wrong, but they are out of divine favor.
Unitarian Universalism teaches love, it teaches that people across all religions (And those without) are searching for the truth, that everyone should have access to peace, liberty, and justice.
In doing so, UU rejects the dogma of the religious right, and furthermore, it refuses to even acknowledge it. Because of that, the religious right feel as much persecution and aggression coming from them (Yes really) that they feel from anyone else who they perceive as participating in their persecution.
