(5,643 posts)He's a lot smarter and a lot less partisan than most of them. I don't mind being around people I disagree with as long as they aren't mindlessly repeating Fox News talking points.

(5,168 posts)I can see why Chuck Todd would interest the corporation as a replacement. Sooner or later, they will try Luke Russert at the job.
I would prefer the one guest at a time versus a panel of journalists format, like the original version. One could lob softball questions, but others could hold the guest's feet to the fire.

(20,841 posts)The market is pretty much saturated already. They could having IDK more than the GOP talking point or discuss actual liberal issues that appeal to people younger than 87. If you want rating and to be relevant the host isn't the problem it is the fact all they have on is white male conservatives.

(9,314 posts)His new contract prohibits commentary on politics. He seems so happy there. It is our loss. Keith Olbermann is probably the most remarkable commentator I have listened to on cable in my lifetime. He had no fear, and he is so intelligent. Comcast will NEVER agree to anyone even remotely like Keith Olbermann (if there is such a person.)

(50,130 posts).....but Donahue was outstanding in his day.
Keith was The Man for his time. It's surprising they allowed him to be on the air as long as he was.

(50,326 posts)if they replace him with Todd their ratings will continue to plummet, replacing one repub sycophant with another does nothing to change what is wrong with MTP, imo.

(62,411 posts)the show could well be dead by then.
I have a suggestion. Hire Amy Goodman with no restrictions. That would be fun.
Or maybe Amy and Rachel could tag-team it!
