3 days for them to be in session does not mean that they only work for 3 days. There's constituency issues in every district. I'm not saying that every member of the House or Senate does this but it's a misleading talking point.

126 x 8 = 1008 hrs

174k divided by 1008 = per hr.

and of course there are all those freebie trips all over that are not even included

and all those 5 day weekends they take

Honestly, how many members of Congress or the Senate do you know? This is grossly exaggerated.

Math isn't just math. What you are doing is nonsensical.
This is the Internet however and it's more fun to just post jpgs, gifs and nonsense than facts.

Carry on.

I haven't hidden anything.
I know for a fact that these people work more than 3 days a week and 8 hours a day. It's easy to toss out snark and misinformation. I'm not willing to do that.
Why leave the blank space. Why not just be rude?
Look, I've worked on the Hill for nearly 20 years. It's just frustrating seeing the same lame talking points year after year.
The OP could just as easily have been 'the democratic lead Senate..." Doesn't make it any more or less wrong

No idea what you're talking about. My apologies for being sincere. If you'd like more internet passive aggressiveness, it won't be from me.
Just put me on ignore and we won't have to do this anymore.

Are you a member of Congress? How many days a year do you think they work? How many hours a day?
C'mon, explain it to me. This is the most "do-nothing" congress in history by far.

Do you not understand how representation works? These people are responsible for their districts, committees and voting. When there are no votes, there's countless things for them to attend in their home districts. Can they shirk this responsibility? Sure they can but the ones I've had the pleasure of working for haven't.
We are talking minimum 12 hour days and usually upwards of 15.

Perhaps they should run for congress like the president said at the White House Correspondents dinner.
