Poll Numbers Show A Democrat Could Be Oklahoma's Next Governor

TULSA, Oklahoma - A recent Rasmussen poll shows a Democrat could dethrone Oklahoma's sitting governor. The poll shows Governor Fallin at 45 percent and her challenger, Democratic State Representative, Joe Dorman, at 40 percent.

While another poll from just a couple days ago shows them 10 points apart, that’s still not a massive difference and the race is now piquing a lot of interest.

“I am amazed that it’s that close in this short period of time,” said Democratic State Representative, Joe Dorman.

It's red now because of social issues, but people have voted for some really short-sighted tax cuts too. We're heading the way of Kansas if we keep cutting revenue.

was looking for Boren's tenure ('79 - 87,) and discovered lots more, like straight Dem governors from 1911 - 1967.

I've never been able to reconcile all the nice people I've met there with the absolute assholes who keep winning their elections.

Of course, with the blanket judicial overturn of anti marriage equality laws in much of Dixie, we probably won't see much changeover there in November. All the preachers will be in full froth, telling their flocks to vote Republican so gays and lesbians can't get married.

I'm sure that's considering the election process is fair. We have two fronts to fight as Democrats, the election itself and the process. In many states we don't have the luxury of owning and operating the systems that do the counting or the civic balances for fair personnel to do the counting. The GOP needs the vote count. We need the voters, "computer monitors" to protect the systems and legitimate watchdogs to make sure there are no "mistakes"... or a margin of error that can't be beat by fraud.

The problems are rampant in many states including the Red ones where it seems the GOP have it locked up... like Utah. They will drop Dems from the voting lists just because some person at the DMV decides to drop you. I check my voter registration once a month and once a week the month before an election. Sometimes they just can't seem to find my registration and I end up filling out a provisional ballot which of course ends up in the waste basket.

We vote on those forms on which you have to blacken in the arrow pointing to the candidate or issue of the voter's choice. There is a paper trail in case of a recount or allegations of tampering.

I'm not saying that tampering is not possible, but it would be much more difficult than it would be in the case of some electronic voting methods.

As for kicking anyone off the rolls without a true legal reason, I've never heard of that either. Knock on wood, I guess.
