as far as I know, it's just as "temporary" as when the good ol' USA does it.

By the way, I'm interested in ALL parties, the USA, Hamas, Israel, etc., following laws of war, the main one being don't start aggressive wars.

they were used by U.S. soldiers. Besides, this story dates from 2003. Relevance and timeliness is important if you're trying to compare the US to the situation in Gaza. This example is neither relevant nor timely.

My personal opinion is that the United States should not be involved in any way in the Middle East. No aid, no nothing. I've stated that opinion clearly many times on DU.

It is in no sense "the exact same thing".

Taking up a position in a school and then accusing the enemy of attacking schools when they fire at you... that's what crosses the line.

Taking up a position in a school and making sure that children and other civilians stay there so that when the enemy fires at you the civilians die too... that's what crosses the line.

You won't find examples of American soldiers doing either of those things.
