Santorum in 2016?

Let's destroy him now, make sure he hasn't a leg to stand on, that his potential policies are dangerous, extreme and out of touch with the general electorate.

We need to go back through all the debates, all the statements he has said, his voting record when he was a senator, and excerpts from his book(s), and prepare a slew of quotes, actions and more to use against him when the time comes.

Democrats MUST step up and kill the repukes where they stand.

There are many, many topics which need to be addressed, and why people like Santorum are criminally insane. We need to grow bigger cajones. If we can't memorize or understand every topic, we need to engage those who can give rational and coherent talking points on those other issues.

Everytime I hear someone hedge against any kind of confrontation with the right, I feel like we're weak, and useless. If one activist speaks out, it means we have a future--if no one speals out, we are lucky if people call us "weak as newborn kittens."

Santorum is the model of the extreme right, a very dangerous man in manners of social interactions. If he were elected, women would lose their current rights, and more: this would be officially considered a "Christian" nation, and the rights of all other world faiths would be abolished. We consider China's religious laws to be draconian, the US would make China look positively liberal. The US would sink into an abyss of the extreme right and their out of touch beliefs. The lack of children and young adults with science and math skills would force tech firms in the country to either move out of the country, or import foreigners to fill the jobs in that industry. Women wouldn't be allowed to have any kind of birth control, have family counseling, abortion or even hold jobs if those jobs interfered with men having jobs.

Don't laugh at the hyperbole. It's not as imaginary as you might think. Right now, even under a relatively liberal president, state governments have been steadily taking away women's right in the present, some of them as extreme as they possibly could be, and Santorum is one satisfied son of a bitch.

Let's fight Santorum. Let's start a 4 year plan to crush him and any kind of potential plans he might have for the leadership of this country. If you're not willing to fight to defeat extremism of the unstable, domineering, authoritarian right wing, you probably aren't really a DUer. (IMHO)(YMMV)

You can bet your ass that Santorum will be back. He was pretty much a nobody a year ago, and even a month before Iowa was considered a very long shot. He won 11 contests this year, Reagan won 12 of them in 1976.

If he's not actively involved in some sort of elected office or high level political job (besides lobbyist), it's not going to be easy to pin anything on him. If Mitt loses, he'll be able to continue to tour the areas of the country where his base is, and be the "see, I told you so" candidate.

At some point in the next few years, he's likely to lose his daughter, and the beatification of St. Rick will begin in earnest.

The creep will be back in 2016. It speaks to how awful the republican base is that a super creepy guy who has weirdo and fanatical ideas like him got so much support. Maybe the republicans will have a somewhat sane candidate next time again though and Santorum will be foiled yet again.

Hell his Speech at the NRA today already sounded like a speech of a man planning to run for President, I suspect he will be the Mitt Romney of 2016 in regards to having been basically running for President for 5 years.

And you know what id love it for him to be nominated, I really can't see a situation where Santorum is electable in a national election and I would love to hold the White House the rest of the decade.
