A discussion got disappeared and locked last night.

The topic was about the teen shot and killed last night by St. Louis police. The police claimed that the victim fired at them, but many witnesses denied this. His mother, I believe, said he had a sandwich in his hand. After the initial reporting police claimed to have recovered the gun they say the victim used to fire three shots.

Later in the evening (or earlier in the morning) this thread vanished from sight. It was also locked. I haven't seen this kind of action before, but that doesn't mean it hadn't happened before.

Some people are adults here on DU, and not only can they accept new information when it is revealed, they can actually revise their opinions. I actually consider that a feature, not a bug.

Thank you for reading.

It was a self delete, probably to prevent alert trolling on that thread.

I'm not a moderator, but perhaps that is why your thread was gone.

I didn't check but sometimes the mods attach one thread to another--maybe it's in there

I saw the thread, commented a couple of times, and then later read some additional information and went to comment some more and I couldn't find. I went to one of my posts on the thread and located it. At that point I was still able to post. But now the whole discussion is locked, but not before a snarky response to my comment and a stalkish response to my comment.
