Just Seriously Creeps Me Out

Now I can't stand the majority of Republican politicians any way but for some reason even looking at a picture of Ted Cruz makes my skin crawl. It's just like the crazy and the obnoxious comes right through the camera. I think he is one of the smarmiest politicians we have ever seen in recent years.

Know this is not a particularly deep thought provoking post but does anyone else find him even more creepy than your average puke?

He TREMENDOUSLY creeps me out. But I'm not sure where the real ugliness is. He's rather repulsive to look at, as is, but his ideas are even more disgusting. Even if he looked like Bradley-Cooper-meets-Hugh-Jackman, his ideas still make him utterly hideous.

about being taught not to judge people by their looks. I was too, but you're right it's the whole package.

It's reminds me of something that happened to me on the job too. There was this really sexist, bigoted, nasty lawyer on the board of directors of a not for profit where I used to work. A new woman was hired as our office manager and she was a little over the top about religion. As examples she thought a card in our gift shop with a Native American couple kissing was too racy and celebrating Halloween was just inviting the devil to come out and play. Normally I just rolled my eyes at her and thought she was slightly off.

But one day she came running down the stairs to our break room after meeting this board member for the first time. She was practically shaking in her shoes. I asked her what was wrong. She said she was afraid of that board member. I asked "why did he do something or say something that made you feel threatened?" She said "no, but you can see evil in his eyes." I said "well I can't disagree with you on that one. I think he's evil too. " I was basing that on his actions towards others, not a religious point of view. She quit shortly after.

It's not that this guy's facial features are hideously disfigured or even unattractive, it's just his inner ugliness becomes apparent somehow in his outward appearance to some people. That's what I see in Cruz too.

some of the classes they taught, etc. One aspect was a sixth sense of sorts, one told me you can almost smell the evilness of some people, that they emit a negative energy of sorts, you can really sort of feel it when near them. I've found that to be true, some individuals I'm met before just emitted a kind of negativeness that I wanted nothing to do with them.

Some may call this hogwash, but I think there is possibly something to it. It's not one thing, it's the whole package. I've also found that quite true with some religions people, they just freak me out.

and general appearance reminds me of Sen. Joseph McCarthy and his communist witch-hunts of the 50's.

It seems that it is his father who is the ambitious one. Found on the internet: "In a sermon last year (2012) at an Irving, Texas, megachurch that helped elect Ted Cruz to the United States Senate, Cruz' father Rafael Cruz indicated that his son was among the evangelical Christians who are anointed as "kings" to take control of all sectors of society, an agenda commonly referred to as the "Seven Mountains" mandate, and "bring the spoils of war to the priests", thus helping to bring about a prophesied "great transfer of wealth", from the "wicked" to righteous gentile believers." Of which, of course both sr. and jr. Cruz's believe themselves to be.

and do not let individual politicians, particularly those who do not represent me, to affect me on such an emotional level.

Cruz, no matter how wrong or disagreeable, was democratically elected as a US Senator by the citizens of Texas. He has just as much as right to his opinions as any other citizen, and his senate votes count as much as the individual votes of liberals like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

Rather than focus on his purported creepiness, instead focus on opposing his polices and electing Democratic candidates. If you think Cruz is creepy now, I assure you that he'll appear much worse if the Republicans take control of the Senate.
