(39,343 posts)4. Election Day 08 was one of the Top Ten days in my life so far.
I was a poll watcher for the Dem party in Savannah Ga and worked a traditionally black/Democratic precinct. After working from 7 to 7 and helping more than a dozen people make their vote count when the state worker tried to run them into a provisional ballot, we partied at a local watering hole well into the night and watched returns come in and eventually the win for Obama. I'm a white guy and have never had my neck hugged by so many old black women in my life. It was a highlight of my life.
