http://news.yahoo.com/nbc-scraps-cosby-television-project-191649678.htmlNBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks said Wednesday the Cosby sitcom "is no longer under development." A TV Land spokesperson said the shows will stop airing immediately. "The Cosby Show" also was to have been part of a Thanksgiving marathon of sitcoms, and the show will be off the network indefinitely.
Both the NBC sitcom and Netflix' Cosby standup comedy special, which has been indefinitely postponed, were halted within a day after actress Janice Dickinson, in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," became the third woman in recent weeks to allege she'd been assaulted by Cosby charges strongly denied by the comedian's lawyer.
The developments, which involve allegations that were widely reported on a decade ago as well as new accusations, have threatened the 77-year-old comedian's reputation as America's TV dad at a time when he was launching a comeback. A year ago a standup special his first in 30 years aired on Comedy Central and drew a hefty audience of 2 million viewers. His prospective new series was announced by NBC in January.
Good! Now they can show something that has better stood the test of time.

(16,286 posts)The development deal is dead because he is the creator I assume, but many people worked on the old show that still get a little check each time something airs.
They will be harmed, not Cosby, he already has more money than God.

(16,286 posts)I suppose it would be tough to have his face and voice on the screen all day long knowing what we think we know now.
If what he is accused of doing is true then he is an ass who has harmed those Women for sure but more people as well.
fuck you Bill

(61,695 posts)The Cosby Show of the 1980s was a real gift. The family relationships and communications were teachable.
And yes, others are out of work now or losing residual checks because of him. This is sad and disgusting.
But most of all, it is deplorable what he may have done to these women. They didn't deserve it, and they didn't deserve to have to keep quiet about it all of these years. I hope they find peace and justice.
