All that's needed to teach this bullshit is classrooms, profs and a library. It's not like the physics department that needs an atom-smasher to do serious research.
This is absurd. Were I elected dictator one of my first acts would be to shutter every business school and make sure the accounting profs got their own department. We need accountants. We do NOT need people who can market shit products "better" or, Celestia forbid, "financial engineers." Those people are destroying the country.

(33,688 posts)It has become a self-replicating class, also known as a hereditary aristocracy. As I recall, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin and Madison had an intense dislike of hereditary aristocracies....
I just remembered that Amy Carter married an artist or some such ordinary fellow.
Chelsea Clinton was safely paired off with a tenth-percenter.
Things that make you say hmmmmm....

The rest will pay it off ...sacrificing lifestyle for many years. Or, so it seems...

(26,582 posts)A 3-hour class at a state school costs around $1600 plus books. Books have cost anywhere from $50-$200ish a class, most are under $100. I also work full time, and get most of my tuition & books reimbursed by my employer.
These expected costs in the article, include living expenses. Most people I go to school with work.
BTW, business school also includes human resources, economics, data analytics, supply chain & logistics, manufacturing operations, project management, etc.

(26,582 posts)All MBAs are evil. Don't you know that? My econ and marketing classes have turned me into a psychopath. Wait maybe it's my project management class next spring that puts me over the edge.

(53,521 posts)...because a local rich fuck paid ("donated money" for it. I wonder if it is similar with other colleges.
tammywammy
(26,582 posts)It was a sizable donation, since the school is named after him. But all colleges & universities depend on large donations. That's why they have buildings named after people.
