Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said on Wednesday that if Eric Garner had been healthier, he would not have died after a police officer placed him in a chokehold.
"If he had not had asthma, and a heart condition and was so obese, almost definitely he would not have died from this," King told CNN's Wolf Blitzer during an interview.

(16,076 posts)Regarding the 30 years of violence during which the IRA killed over 1,700 people, including Lord Mountbatten, Lord Kaberry, Sir Anthony Berry MP and over 600 civilians, King said, "If civilians are killed in an attack on a military installation, it is certainly regrettable, but I will not morally blame the IRA for it."

(12,041 posts)The police should not put people in positions that could trigger serious health issues. The police should know that choke holds can be deadly especially when performed on a person who already has health issues, because the police do not know the health of most people they need to assume everyone has health conditions and exercise restraint with everyone.
