Which, of course, forces lower-income students to take out more loans (which can not be discharged in bankruptcy), thus driving up the profits of the collection agencies even more.

(9,478 posts)that if the Dems vote against the budget bill, or Obama vetoes it, the Dems will be blamed for the gov't shutdown and we'll likely lose big in 2016. If they vote for it, they anger their base. Either way it ends up with Dems looking bad. The gov't runs out of money tomorrow, so the Dems will probably have to suck it up and pass the bill then try and overturn some of the bad parts later.
