Tonight I watched my last episode of "The Colbert Report"

As I've stated here previously, I think Stephen's move to CBS is a bad one: for him, for the state of satire in this country and, indeed, for the country itself. I am very serious in saying this.

I won't be watching next week's final four episodes, as it would be too emotionally wrenching for me. Sounds kinda funny coming from an ex-Army guy, doesn't it? But, in my not-so-humble opinion, America is going to suffer a wound one week from tonight.

Why is Stephen packing his show up this early? He wants a five month vacation in between?

There needs to be some distance between the character and the regular guy that is S. Colbert.

There are a lot of details that we don't recognize. Plus Colbert wants some time off before he goes from 4 22minute shows a week to 5 44 minute shows a week.

... is not a one-trick pony.

And if you think he was, or ought to have been, that's your loss, not the country's.

As much as I love(d) the Report, I'm very confident that Colbert will shine in his next role.
