Holiday week shootings add to troubling trend of drive-bys

The shootings added to a troubling trend this year of drive-by shootings in Miami and Miami-Dade County’s north end. Though major crimes are down overall in most cities around the nation, including Miami, anecdotal evidence seems to suggest there has been an uptick in in drive-by shootings claiming multiple victims.

And most seem to have a common theme: A shooter pulls up to a crowded scene in a car, steps out and unleashes a torrent of bullets from a semi-automatic weapon into a group of people, often with little or no regard for the innocents surrounding the intended target.

The majority of the shootings remain unsolved....

In the past two weeks, 18 people have been shot in drive-by shootings. Two have died. A teen with a bullet wound to his head survived.

Sad about what is happening in my corner of the world. Steven Shipp states the situation well: "It could be a better world if attitudes would change and people could see things in a different way."

More than a third of Americans say they or someone in their household owns a gun. There are by various estimates anywhere from 270 million to 310 million guns in the United States — close to one firearm for every man, woman and child.

preloaded, even the police that would be first to deal with such a war.

But you know what? I think Americans in general are too lazy to ever start an actual real war, seems like they can barely get up for a cyber war let along a real one.

America has an appetite for only one thing, domestically, and it comes with an order of fries, and a dollop of screaming inanities in comment boards...
