'Free' pot offered by Vancouver medical marijuana dispensary (CBC)

People are usually bombarded with advertisements at this time of year, but one ad campaign in Metro Vancouver is turning heads.

Some shoppers returning to their cars have been finding business cards on their windshields offering "free premium cannabis."

The so-called free pot is being offered by a medical marijuana dispensary on south Granville Street in Vancouver.

The Richmond RCMP says there have not been any complaints about the cards, which have been distributed at the Lansdowne Centre mall.

"Our position on the business cards is that nothing criminal is being committed simply by handing them out to the public at large," said the statement issued by Acting Cpl. Dennis Hwang.

My understanding is that Berkeley has funded free medical marijuana somehow.

While I'm all for medical marijuana and withdrawing the vast amounts of taxpayer money being wasted on the "Drug Wars" in general, I am somewhat disheartened that Berkeley couldn't get it together to fast-track the basics like housing and jobs first. The problem is there is a stealth campaign by a certain (racist) segment part of the Berkeley population to use the employment/housing crisis to pressure the (black/brown) undesirables out of town. If a few elderly and disabled people are also casualties, then meh.

But free weed? We can afford that! Just like we can afford intervening in affairs all over the world! Because Berkeley is filled with rich people who are Busy and Important and who would like Nobel and Pulitzer prizes. You don't get that kind of grease from just helping your neighbors.

Free weed will definitely make the news. Just like our tax on Big Soda.
