More racist brutality by NYPD Thugs-in-Blue, for dancing in the street

“What are you dancin’ in the street for? What the f**k is wrong with you?” barks the NYPD cop as he assaults a man for dancing.
By Matt Agorist * The Free Thought Project * December 29, 2014

New York, NY — A harmless and humorous dance challenge by TV personality Ellen Degeneres, goes brutally awry after the NYPD gets involved.

Ellen’s #DanceDares have brought humor and laughter to so many people, until now. The premise for the #DanceDare is simple, dance behind someone without them noticing.

Most of these interactions simply make people smile, or at worst walk away. However, when YouTube personality, Alexander BOK attempted this playful stunt behind an NYPD officer, he was accosted and assaulted.

Accosted and assaulted for dancing in the street on Christmas Eve.
In what looks more like a gang bullying than a police detainment, BOK is immediately thrown up against the NYPD van while a hand clinches his neck – for dancing.

people are rightfully outraged at the deaths of Eric Garner and Akai Gurley — but it is these day to day things that NEED TO STOP.

This is bad policing. These are bad police. There was no need for this. It did not have to be this way and until the NYPD figures out there is a better way to police, people will continue to protest.

Death is the extreme. This garbage happens far more often and it isn't right.

I was in NYC on Xmas eve. I noticed a heightened police pretense from 54th to 42nd street — where this happened.

I remember telling my husband after he noticed the extra police presence that police might be bracing for protests.

I think the NYPD were prepared and hyper vigilant for a problem. This (as I said above) was not needed. They are way too itchy to find their solution to a problem that they themselves have.

As others have said and I agree, I hope Ellen says something about this.

The vibe is palpable in certain parts of the city. It's a bit unnerving.

When I was in college the night of the murder of King, the police were over present. now, we were both white, but police in college towns really used to hate college students. anyway, I missed my bus and ended up arguing on the street with boyfriend, it was his fault, really for making me have to wait an hour for the next bus. but in the midst of complaining to him the next thing I saw was him slammed against the wall and while I was trying to stop it, they were beating up on him. Trying to say it was just an argument, no one was hitting anyone. They hauled him off to jail and he yelled to call his uncle ( a police captain in another city) I think calling his uncle saved his life because they were beating him up in a jail cell when his uncle came in - broke his collar bone and his ear drum and his jaw in 3 places. I think enhanced police presence gets their adrenaline too high and they can't stop themselves.
Have you never yelled at someone on a public street? I am not even sure it was yelling so much as complaining and whining. there was no need for them to intervene and if it was not for his uncle, I have no idea what would have happened except nothing good.

adrenaline. That is what is was seeing that night night in NYC. and this is what I am seeing when I read stories like this.

Things are amping up, and I am getting very concerned. Adrenaline is like gas to a spark, and the spark is not the protestors.

You make a very good point.

I just could not stop it, that was my horror. The police were on notice not to pick on Blacks that day so they picked on the people they hated the next most then, white College students. The uncle also said if boyfriend sued, the uncle would not back him up and he better plan to move out of state fast because he would have a target on his back. This is when I realized the "brotherhood of cops" was a criminal organization.

If you don't have money in this country you are screwed. It is so easy to end up in jail for nothing. I have tried to tell people, but they just believe what they say on the news about the policeman being your friend. I personally have only been threatened once by a policeman, and he had just lost his badge and was high on pot and cocaine when he pulled his gun on me because I resisted his advances since I was eating dinner with a friend (idjit guy) and was newly married - most of the people around me recognized it was out of control situation including his once partner who ended the situation by talking him into putting his gun away and tackling him and a local politician who was pretty much in shock for most of it but also shooed the young cop out of the restaurant. I was told I would regret it if I reported this guy who was close to killing me because I wanted to eat my dinner and go home. On a positive note, the owner of the restaurant comped my dinner.

How is it legal for a cop to assault someone like that? Answer: it's not. He pushed him down on an icy street which means he could have cut his hand on ice or his feet could slip and do serious damage. They have them on tape. They should ALL be fired.

The only thing that matters in this instance is the video you just watched.

If it was edited to only show the negative reaction of the cops then I could concede your point.

You can watch the video from the first interaction to the last. The prankster wasn't aggressive or disrespectful
to the officers when they approached him. If anything his reaction was scared.

The way they acted was criminal and if you were on camera doing that to a co worker , a random person on the street you would be
arrested and charged. Just because you're mad it doesn't give you the legal right to shove and push a person into the ground
that poses no threat to you or anyone else in the area.
