When George HW Bush does die, will there be a lot of tributes? Or condemnations?

Well, he is 90.

His presidency will be noted for how the Gulf War was his high point, and the pardoning of the Iran-Contra figures his low.

I hope his time as head of the CIA will be noted.
Who knows how many crimes he knew of or did himself.

The corporate media will never accurately tell the story of the Bush Crime Family. They never have. He's a scumbag criminal who will be held forth as an "American Icon". Despite the damage that family has done to this country.

I almost puked over the way some people defended Tricky Dick for 20 years after he had resigned from the presidency.
Then some of them even tried to make him sound like he was a great leader, and a man of honor.
Dick had no honor.
He was a dick.

It was just pomp and circumstance, as far as he was concerned.
All Dick was interested in was power, and the paranoia he had caused him to become psychotic.
Or, is it the other way around, the psychosis he had caused him to become paranoid, I can't remember.

The main stream media will make a deal out of his passing for a few days.

But he was pretty much a mediocre President who got beat by Clinton-Gore.

And don't forget Dan Quayle ... who wants to think about him again.

For average Americans, Bush's shuffle off the mortal coil will be meaningless.

And we lost one million jobs thanks to NAFTA.

There is no bottom to that man's skeleton closet. If we could weigh out all that he did in his life, verse Cheney's - I bet his life would make Cheney's look like an eagle scout outing. From his nazi loving daddy, to his great great great dad that loved the slaving days far too much. The family that taught us the words 'human capital'.

Bush might be the only man that has a closet of skeletons dedicated to the skeletons in his closet...they needed additional room.

Morality and humanity in that family that extends through many generations. Barbara's family would need to be examined for the same kind of skeletons, because there is no doubt in my mind that she and Poppy are made for each other.

If I believed in demons, I would consider the likelihood that someone in his lineage made a "deal" and that the same demon possesses at least one in each generation.

GHWB was a moderate who was tolerated as Reagan's sidekick for eight years. He was elected in his own right because:

1) He wasn't Michael Dukakis, and
2) Willie Horton (credit to Lee Atwater).

had the guts to stand up the way Glenda Jackson did in the House of Commons when Thatcher died.

There was also a website called "Is Thatcher Dead Yet" - it was up for years with the answer "No - check back later". When she died the website read "Yes. How are you celebrating?" It had links to FB and other sites where people were venting about Thatcher...No crocodile tears or "let's not speak ill of the dead" comments by the British for Thatcher like we had for Reagan and will have when George H.W. meets Satan.

I heard that from time to time for years afterwards. It seemed to really bother some hawks that he didn't get Saddam even though there was no UN mandate or coalition support for it. I suspect junior's subsequent invasion was launched at least partly to "finish the job" and shut them up.

Otherwise fairly nondescript, which is better than chickenhawk warmongering. Will no doubt be rightly hailed for assembling a large coalition including some Arab states.
