She relates her family's economic worries growing up in the fifties, her struggle to get a college degree, her problems with child care and her wonderful aunt from OK who came to live with her and provide child care, her aging parents moving in with her also and then going back to their roots in OK.
I am very impressed with this bio. I'm at the creation of CFPB now. It is some story! She lays out a well crafted argument about the hollowing out of the middle class and she talks specifics. She is down to earth and also very smart.
Her doubts about herself and learning to relieve those doubts and fears is a great story. It makes me yearn for her to change her mind and run for President.
I absolutely love this book! It gives me hope. GET this book (I snagged a copy from my local library). You will be so happy to read it. I guarantee it!

(63,926 posts)She talks about drinking light beer and eating fried clams at a Clam Shack joint back in MA. She also talks about loving to teach and how hard it was to give that up to run for the Senate. And the unspeakable tactics of the republicans and slimy Scott Brown.
Glad to hear you feel the same way about this book. If she ran for president she would have LEGIONS of unpaid volunteers and lots and lots of small individual donations, much like Obama's fundraising.
