all the different intelligent life forms in the Universe. Maybe each one has an actual different God running things for them.

I'm not serious, but every time I think about just how huge the Universe is, I find it harder and harder to believe there is one single omnipotent entity that runs everything.

Oh, and for what my opinion is worth, non believer that I am, the Pope saying he'd baptize aliens strikes me as genuinely offensive as it does not in any way respect what their beliefs in this area might be.

For those of us who grew up in the mainstream culture, regardless of our personal beliefs, the idea of asking to be baptized of course makes sense. But for an alien? A real, out there not of this planet alien?

I read lots of science fiction, and I've been known to write some. I also try to pay attention to cosmology kinds of things, so I know my take on aliens is quite different from that of the Pope's, with all due respect.

Like on Europa or Ganymede.

It would blow his pet belief totally out of the water.

Ken Ham as a communication vehicle. I would think the god would rather use an intelligent life form

...unless we go and ask.

What if the Christian Bible is incomplete because it does not include the actions of Jesus on other planets?

Weird. I think that there might be aliens. It would seem with the size of our universe and all the other ones out there, that life would have happened in other places. However, I have no idea what the other life forms would be like. For all I know it's all still in the bacterial like virus like stage or so far advanced beyond anything we can imagine.

I reserve judgement on the pope. He seems to like to stir the pot, which is likely a good thing. But the Catholic Church is still a bit of a problem for me, as are all religions.

But, so far, I give Francis a pass, especially for his inclusive rhetoric.
