It was a simple and overwhemingly bi-partisan bill...

Both sides were going to vote to pass a bill, H.R. 22, to exempt vets from being counted by employers under the ACA:

H.R. 22 — "To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exempt employees with health coverage under TRICARE or the Veterans Administration from being taken into account for purposes of determining the employers to which the employer mandate applies under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act."

In the debate before voting on the bill, the Republicans took it as an opportunity to politicize the bill as a hit against "Obamacare," while the Democrats rightly pointed out that this is merely the right thing to do for our vets. While watching the Republicans piss all over something worthwhile, all I could say to myself was leave it to these GOPers to fuck up an ice cream social.

If anything, this is just further proof that the Republicans aren't going play nice under any circumstance, even when it's the right thing to do. They're going to politicize everything. In case you didn't know this, they've voted to fund further investigations against the Obama White House with not only the completely unnecessary Select Committee on Benghazi, but the thoroughly discredited "Fast and Furious" scandal as well.

Obamacare, Benghazi, tax cuts for he rich and Fast and Furious, those are the GOP's priorities for the next two years.

It's going to be bad, folks. Real bad.

Thank goodness for the President's Veto pen.
