Republicans Use Debunked Claims About Effect of Minimum Wage on Job Creation;
Data Shows 2014 Job Creation Grew Faster in States that Raised the Minimum Wage
Concord, NH Following Governor Hassans impassioned call for legislators to come together to finally restore and increase New Hampshires minimum wage, Republican leaders doubled down on their opposition to strengthening wages for tens of thousands of hard-working Granite Staters.
A WMUR Granite State Poll found that 76% of Granite Staters support raising New Hampshires minimum wage including majorities of Democrats, Republicans and independents.
As Governor Hassan argued passionately in her Inaugural Address, it is long past time for members of both parties to come together to finally restore and increase our states minimum wage, said New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley. Instead of recycling debunked talking points, Republican leaders need to listen to the voices of the people of New Hampshire and finally join with Governor Hassan to strengthen wages and move our economy forward.
