I doubt he won any other state by that wide a margin. Bernie Sanders is their senator. The Watters segment is a HUMOR segment. Nice to see kids learning, but the subject should really be something more serious. I just dont understand the constant obsession with every tiny little thing fox does. I just dont lose any sleep about them. One of my biggest customers has fox on their tv in the area where i do my work. I'm usually in there 1-2 hrs each visit. I dont really even notice its ON.
How many polls do we refer to where a few thousand respondents are used to represent the entire 300+ million US population?

You can google a bunch of those Watters segments and see many of them showing people express a dislike for BillO! Its NOT a journalism segment, its a humor segment. Always has been.
If Fox had such an huge impact on people we wouldnt have a 2 term President Obama. Compared to broadcast network ratings, they're really not that important. When I mention silly fox stuff to folks I know who are on the right, they just point to bad acts by Sharpton or Schultz on THEIR programs. There's enough screw ups to go around i guess.
You'll notice that the kids have apparently also taken the NY Times to task for their reporting.

O'Liely insulted their town, and as they live there, they could see the bias and shoddy "reporting" and "interviewing" techniques.

If they did they same thing to your town or neighborhood, it might encourage you to act.

And there is NO WAY you can't defend yourself against FOX viewers. If that's all you got, you aren't paying attention and you aren't committed.

FOX noos is a scourge on our society.

We should battle them like they are wildlings.

This one didnt make them look like fools, I saw people standing by their vote. Look at the clips Leno did or Kimmel. Shoot, Kimmel just did one the other day interviewing people about MLK and asking questions as though he were still alive! Watters clips are silly. he loves getting people who dont even like billo.
Fox doesnt have a lot of viewers when compared to the networks. Not even close. And your response is just what I'm talking about; "battle them". I prefer to spend my energy on things that will make a difference. There have been groups wasting their entire existence on "fighting" fox. Whats happened? Nothing; they're still on and they will continue to be on. Its silly that such effort is spent to show someone on fox saying something stupid. Its amazing that they get so much exposure here on DU
I'm going to spend my effort & money supporting candidates that actually can accomplish things that are important. If fox went off air tomorrow, there would be another one to replace them the next day. But hey, to each his own. You have your opinion about whats important and i'm not going to berate you for it. We just have a difference of opinion, thats all.

Like he said in the SOTU speech, he won both his campaigns!
I think most networks, whoever they may be, do have some sort of agenda to some extent. But thats what reading is for. Do your own research to read other sides of a story. Look at the Rolling Stone rape story; it was obvious from the start that the reporter wanted to push her agenda and she was allowed to do so. The same thing with the old Duke story; the news ran wild with that without even having any evidence.
It just amazes me that ANY OP about fox will usually get hundreds of responses compared to much bigger stories. It borders on obsession for some. And they just arent that big of a deal to me. Silly. But to each his own, I guess.

fox ratings have been whatever they are for years. If they REALLY had such a big impact, the Democrats wouldnt have had the House, Senate and presidency all at the same time for two yrs. Yes things are different now, but how long do you think it will last? The GOP will do some stupid shit soon enough and people will shake their heads and vote them back OUT of leadership again. They are their own worst enemies and a fox news wont rescue them from that!
Of course, the GOP might get a clue and drop all the social nonsense from their plans and turn their focus to jobs and the debt. But what are the chances of that?!

and Fox can never guarantee Republican control, but they can nudge things to the right and, combined with other conditions such as gerrymandering and which seats are up for reelection, they can sometimes make a difference.

Just because they don't always win total control doesn't mean that they have no effect. No one is claiming that.

You're contending that the media has no effect and that propaganda doesn't work. Most people would disagree.

I do too, to some extent. That conventional wisdom being that most big media is more liberal than conservative. Fox is pretty much the lone right leaning network of any size, yet they still only get a tiny amount of viewers compared to the big guys and certainly as a whole. I'd venture to say that most of their viewers who vote gop arent doing so because anything fox tells them, but they already DID vote gop to start with. Its just odd to me that there's a borderline obsession with fox for a lot of people here. I just see them as a contrarian voice that mostly appeals to people who have already made up their minds. Maybe I just see it differently because they dont have any effect on ME. I see them a lot because of the places I work and I still have no desire to pull the lever for TEd Cruz!

because just beforehand, Jackie Gleason's character addresses a black policeman officer as "boy," and asks to speak with his sheriff. When the responds that HE the is the sheriff, Gleason winces with the agony of being squeezed between 200 years of both white supremacy and the military-based obligation to respect a uniform if not the person wearing it. "What the hell is the world coming to" when you have to treat a black person as an equal? Talk about stereotyping!
