The community college proposal is fantastic and I agree with it wholeheartedly. But this union-busting POS can kiss my ass. He is directly responsible for people in his own union losing everything, including the ability to feed their children and pay for their college. He wanted to line his greedy producer pocket and he used deception to do it. One more hypocrite we're all supposed to applaud.

As far as I'm concerned, a liberal who isn't pro-labor isn't a liberal at all.
But I'd like to read the details.

Where he was lying and tried to use his clout to get them to take the shitty contract which gave away rights and residuals for middle class actors. A-Listers like himself always negotiate their own contracts, so they don't care.

Here is a Facebook post that sums up some of his union busting. He is nothing but a greedy bastard.

Tom Hanks is one of the biggest and worst union busters in the business. His TV mini-series "Band of Brothers" with a budget of $125 million was shot mostly in England but also in other parts of Europe. Using his influence, Tom Hanks got a special Act of Parliament passed to get around Equity rules (Equity is the SAG of England) so that he wouldn't have to pay the actors scale or residuals.

Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair's son Euan was given a part in the series (favor for favor?). Principals working on the "Band of Brothers" were paid pitifully low wages and never received any residual checks whatsoever. However, Tom Hanks made sure he got paid very well.

What Tom Hanks did towards his fellow actors was utterly despicable. Such was the disgust in the SAG Boardroom at the time that they passed a new rule called "Global Rule One" which is still in force today.

agree with some one when I think they're right, and disagree with them when I think that they're wrong.

It's not too hard to do.

But personal actions don't change things, because he for something you're against it just because of him?

I don't want to give anyone that kind of power over my life, espically if they are some one I don't like.

for the first 2 years? I haven't seen anyone ask this question.

Also, if community colleges are free, where are they all magically going to come from to accommodate all of the applicants?
