A 39-year-old Juneau woman has been cited for tripping legal traps set to catch fur-bearing animals.
Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Kathleen Adair for “hindering lawful trapping.” She was issued a court summons.
Adair could not be reached for comment and online court records did not list an attorney.
Troopers investigated after a Juneau trapper Dec. 30 reported that someone had triggered his traps.
The Juneau Empire reports conflicts between trappers and Juneau dog owners have arisen in the past.
Wildlife Trooper Jake Abbott says trappers get upset with dog owners who ignore the municipal leash law and dog owners don’t like traps set where their dogs could get caught.

But there's more to this story here.

Kathleen Adair freed an eagle from a trap and sprung 3 more in Alaska

A hiker was arrested and warned she could face jail after freeing an eagle from a trap and springing three more traps to protect other animals.

Kathleen Adair, 39, was walking her three dogs up Davies Creek Trail in Alaska on Christmas Eve when she spotted the bird with each leg shut inside traps.

She spent an hour freeing the creature before alerting a bird rescue firm.

Heading home, she also sprung another trap which she spotted in the ground - prompting an investigation by Alaska Wildlife Troopers that landed her in court.

Eventually tracked down by authorities she was charged and hauled to court facing a $500 fine and 30 days in jail.

Fuck trapping and trappers. How disgusting they are. I hope someone can come to her defense and pay her court fees a fines. If I had the money, I'd be on it in less than a heartbeat.

Thanks for posting the picture to show what a f-d up activity this is. people who claim they rely on this sort of thing need to be sent back for regrooving so they can do something worthwhile with their time and energy that doesn't harm wildlife like this.
