SUPER BOWL MEMORIES

SUPER BOWL MEMORIES

Super Bowl XIII

In January 1979 I was walking to the the laundromat across Wilshire, a wide road normally crammed with vehicles. Weirdly, the street was almost empty. It was like the Twilight Zone episode 1: where is everybody? At the laundromat I noticed there was a football game on TV. Whatever, are you done with that dryer yet?

Super Bowl XVI

In 1982 I moved to SF in mid-January and promptly came down with the flu. After about a week I got well enough to go out, so I dragged my ass to The New York Deli. Ordered a sandwich. Was quietly minding my own business when the waiter came to my table, wild-eyed, and said something like fourteen seven nine nerz. I had no idea what he was talking about.

mr pete has surgery tomorrow a.m.
we are both happy to have the Super Bowl as a distraction today.
he is from Seattle, so GO SEAHAWKS,

more importantly, GO MR PETE!
I've loved this man for 45 years and need to keep him around for another 40

peace,
kp
