I heard it pronounced that way by a news reader yesterday and it made me laugh.

(20,277 posts)I don't watch pre-game stuff, and won't watch half time because I don't like Katy Perry.

(146,336 posts)I'm making some killer, fully-dressed hot dogs. Then, we'll do something else after the first quarter.

(21,755 posts)And probably the closest Chicago will get to a superbowl for a long time.

(146,336 posts)I do like the poppy-seed buns, though, but I couldn't find them. But that relish just has to be toxic.
My wife, the heathen, puts ketchup on her hot dogs. I won't do it, so she has to come to the kitchen and do it herself.
Otherwise, the dogs have cheddar cheese, raw onion, and dill pickle relish on them. Brown mustard on mine, too. I won't even touch the ketchup bottle, though. Sacrilege!

(21,755 posts)a favor and hide the ketchup by alll means!

(51,076 posts)covered at 250 degrees for 30 minutes then cover and the temperature will drop to 225 and stay there for the next 2 - 2 1/2 hours and guaranteed to fall off the bone. Using our own personal dry rub, Lowrys seasoning salt, chili powder, onion, garlic and celery seed. Awesome everyone tells us.

(146,336 posts)Too cold here to fire up the grill. I'll just be boiling my Famous Nathan Bun Length weenies.
The dogs get one naked hot dog, too, shared between them. I cut one up into 8 pieces and each mutt gets four chunks. They don't understand the irony, either. Good dogs!

(14,400 posts)how long I was staring at your subject line going "What the hell does that mean?".
I'm not always the sharpest knife in the block, that's for sure.

Well done.

Couldn't care less about the game.

(146,336 posts)I'll be asleep by then, so I'll have to watch the repeats. We're early risers.

(2,931 posts)Unsophisticated knuckle draggers, I laugh at you. I will spend that time reading existentialist philosophy essays with Mozart playing in the background and a very expensive wine from Ital... aw fuck it, I just couldn't click the post button.
Bring on the superbowl with some decent whiskey, cheap (but very cold) american beer, home made guacamole dip, and bratwursts!
I may flip to the puppy bowl at half time, depending on the volume of alcohol previously consumed.

(146,336 posts)No more Roman numerals. Superbowl Hell is just too tempting a target, which I think is probably why they made the decision. I think Ex-licks is just about as bad. I'm betting there's porn of it.
pokerfan
(27,677 posts)or was it Superbowls 5 and 10? What's this sudden objection to the letter 'L?' I've never understood this infatuation with Roman numbers.

Super Bowl V sounds like the Viacom V of Doom.
But Super Bowl L, meanwhile, sounds like... er...

I'm watching the game but not all the pre-game blabber.
