Neighbor Jailed For Burning Married Couple's Pride Flag

The couple thought they were being burglarized.
Jess rushed downstairs to check on their two girls while Ariann ran to a window in time to see a van drive off. A few minutes later, a man appeared, running down the quiet residential street holding something the women say looked like a burning stick. Then realization hit them. Someone was burning the pride flag they fly outside their house.

WOWT reports that police arrested Cameron Mayfield (photo right) for felony second-degree arson. Officers say when they arrived at his house to question him, Mayfield tried to run, so they added resisting arrest to the charges.
Mayfield's father told reporters his son will stay behind bars at least until after his arraignment. The elder Mayfield said his son had recently lost his job, had been denied unemployment benefits, and had been drinking. He said he expects the first thing Cameron will do when he is released is to apologize to the Andersons.
