Top Ethics Experts Question Judges’ Role in Big Money Case

"Appropriate recusal standards are vital to the impartial administration of justice, especially in an era of dramatically increasing campaign spending in judicial elections,” argues an amicus brief http://www.brennancenter.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=78910&qid=3920604 submitted by the Brennan Center this week on behalf of the nation’s top legal ethicists. Last month, a special prosecutor investigating possible illegal coordination between Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s 2012 recall election campaign and special interest groups asked one or more Wisconsin Supreme Court justices to step aside from ruling on the case. Media reports indicate the independent political groups also spent millions in support of four of the seven state justices during their election campaigns. “It is very gratifying to have so many of the nation’s top experts on legal ethics weighing in,” said Matthew Menendez. “When millions are spent on behalf of judicial candidates, all kinds of new issues arise. These justices should follow the rules for when to step aside.” Read more from the Journal Sentinel. http://www.brennancenter.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/url.php?u=78956&qid=3920604

The fix is in. Koch $ over nearly a decade has "impregnated" Scooter with Teflon when it comes to media coverage or any sane result to serious investigation. He has been bought (happily by him),so has our most-read Wisconsin media, so has our key judiciary.

True Wisconsinites are still in a near paralyzingly state of disbelief that anyone takes this ill-educated liar seriously. If he sees that something has the adjective "public" or "non-profit", it will be eradicated. Bye bye public education, public employee unions, sustainable monies for state public parks etc. etc.

The first problem is that the mechanisms for correction aren't in fair hands. When you have teahadist thugs in control of all branches of government correction is very difficult.

The second problem is many people who vote dem in general elections don't believe and don't participate in off-year elections. All Walkers wins are outside of general elections. The recall/special election was specifically timed to avoid the general election climate AND to catch college and university residents between addresses to make their voter registration invalid Billboards were taken out threatening criminal sentencing for voting from wrong addressed.

Evidence in the reported voting have very suspect trends in the hour to hour variance as votes were submitted. Rather than variance settling quickly to an asymptote important centers for democrats showed long trends in reported votes that invariably moved toward overcoming Walkers gap in reported votes. Statistical anomalies that would have million to 1 scale odds against them.

When the game is rigged and the opposition gets away with cheating it's hard for Walker to lose.

Wisconsin lesson is it needs national investigations and international monitors into voting rights violations and election theft.

Wisconsin had the second highest voter turnout in the nation last November. We DOUBLE the turnout of states that had 34% turnout.

Really good democrats, really good progressives, people who care about people worked their asses off to great effect, for not very inspiring candidates (our gubernatorial candidate thought off-shoring jobs was just doing business, in a state fighting for union/labor rights) against huge spending disadvantages, but we got beat by tallies that would be different with only 3% swings and the results of dem centers statistically look just like theft of that 3% would look.

WI activists and duers endure a constant stream of snippets of crap that's of the blame the victims sort on DU, on Thom Hartman and by the crews on Stephanie Miller. When will Wisconsin learn?, they keep electing him!! It's there own fault!!, etc, etc.
