We should have done something when that fuck yelled "you lie" in the SOU.
But we didnt.
Following are excerpts from the link, of cons showing disrespect for the President.
Newt: What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]? That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.
As an African American male, coming through the progress of everything he experienced, he got tremendous benefit through a lot of these programs. So he believes in them.

That last one is from that PIECE OF SHIT Coburn who murdered 14 service men a day for two months by denying services...look at what this PIECE OF SHIT says about Obama -dependency WORKED FOR HIM
...
The AfAm community is the most peaceful and patient group ever, to put up with this crap.

If the despicable actions of the 47 republican scumbags doesn't meet the criteria within the Act, what the hell would???

(50,590 posts)the chances of anything being done to the scumbags are slim to none an I, like you, lean heavily on the 'none'.
I would be overjoyed to see us proven wrong.

The hatred for him extends to me because I am a liberal and voted for him.
I have very special reasons to have the deep anger I have

(50,590 posts)That is beyond appalling, I am so sorry you are going through this. The hatred for the President is affecting so many in so many ways, your experience proves it, imo.

(82,849 posts)Which makes them virtually immune from prosecution for their actions, because they did it under the aegis of their status as senators. In theory, this is good government: If an elected officeholder could be prosecuted for taking an action pursuant to their status as officeholder, any action could be prosecuted. This would criminalize political differences (yeah, but even worse than what we have now - trust me on this one).
However, simply because some action isn't expressly illegal doesn't mean taking that action is a good idea, and this is just one more example from the Republican side of the aisle. They need to be hammered for this, and they should be hammered for this, every bit as much as former Rep. Walsh got hammered for yelling out during the State of the Union. The way to stop this is to make the Republicans either renounce their own actions (fat chance) or to make them pay a political price for their fuckery. Responsible citizens have their assignment.

(50,590 posts)"Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, ...". The 47 scumbags were acting as individuals NOT with "the authority of the United States", I don't see how they are exempt from the act as written?
As to your second paragraph, total agreement from me on everything you wrote.

(32,136 posts)in its 212 year history? Its because its unconstitutional and 212 years of DOJs have known that. Art I, Section 6 (1) of the Constitution says the comments by Senators or Representatives "shall not be questioned in any other place." That section means they can say or write what they want.

(135 posts)Congressman who yelled "you lie" at the State of the Union was Joe Wilson of South Carolina. He's my congressman!! I'm so proud of him.
Totally agree .... they should get HAMMERED for this!! Really pisses me off!

(2,120 posts)we hammered him right here on DU. I don't think he cared.

(135 posts)and I know he didn't care. My point was that the "you lie" guy was Wilson and not Walsh as stated in the earlier post.

Let's remember when Al Sharpton said "George Bush is so slow because he is the product of centuries of aristocratic inbreeding from the same genetic source that produced Jeb's dyslexia and Neil's psychopathy."
And Jesse Jackson: George HW Bush is a racist killer who hates minorities and hates children. He helped slaughter Panamanians and Nicaraguans and learned this hate from his own parents who wanted to neuter 'mental defectives.' It's a wonder he didn't drown his own offspring."
Shirley Lee Jackson: "The Bush family is an American hating crime syndicate that is covered with the blood of innocents while they have tried to hide their financial connections to and dependence on the rich Nazi's that their family aided and abetted while the rest of the country was at war with them."
John Lewis: "This family isn't American. And never have been. They sold out long ago. They have no appreciation for America, the melting pot but they would like to melt us down just like their Nazi friends did to the Jews."
....oh, that's right. That didn't happen. But if it had Democrats would have sang their praises. So really it is just the same as if they had said it. **
** the above is sarcasm. I tried to mimic the horrible things that have been said about Obama by saying similarly horrible things about Bush and pretending they were said by black Democratic spokesperson and then using the demented logic of Faux to form a false equivalency to the delusional slander about Obama. Ha ha...... Sheesh.

The disrespect is a fact of life that we cannot change ... however, we can move forward to accomplish a measure of our journey. This is the focus that I respect most about President Obama.
In the paraphrased (and I suspect, plagiarized) words of Motivational Speaker (of the 1990s): "The best revenge (against those disrespecting you) is massive success", i.e., accomplishing your aims.
